Steampunk Basing Kit - This kit has been engineered to meet or exceed the requirements of most steampunk themed basing. This kit should decorate a minimum of 30 standard 30mm round bases, 20 standard 40mm bases, or 10 standard 50mm round bases...though the materials can be stretched further. Steampunk Bounty Pack - This pack contains three separate elements that produce fantastic results: Silver & Gold Metal Chain, Metal Bits & Pieces and Posable Metal Wire.

Metal Bits & Pieces: miniature nuts, bolts, screws, gears, sprockets and washers, etc. Posable Metal Wire: copper, black, bronze, aluminum coated wire plus braided steel and small black rubber hoses. Silver & Gold Metal Chain: 6" lengths of silver and gold metal miniature chain.

Dark Soil Scatter - This product is made from 100% recycled coffee bean grounds. It has been cleaned, filtered and sterilized to retard the degradation process of natural materials.

This scatter material can be used to represent a number of steampunk landscapes. PVA glue is typically used to apply the soil. Drybrushing lighter colors on top of the scatter makes it really easy to instantly create dazzling scenes that can really add that "extra something" to a base.

Hirst Arts 3/8" Pipes - These plaster cast pipes are directly taken from Hirst Arts Mold #321 and are individually gone over with a fine tooth comb to make sure the highest quality is achieved.

The pipes can be used to represent numerous steampunk layouts. Used in unison with other kit elements, they can produce some very realistic effects that withstand the scrutiny of both the naked eye or even the most senstive camera lens. Let your imagination run with these.

Metal Coils and Springs - These are made from, quite simply, metal coils and springs. The metal coils and springs will vary in size and tension. You get several different types included in this kit (enough to tackle most basing needs).

They can be used to represent all sorts of steampunk items, such as Tesla coil (for example). They can also be used as debris in a post-apocalyptic scene, they be added to miniatures to mimic steampunk specific applications or used with other Skullcrafts kits to create unique pieces.

Cork Slate Tiles - This product is made from new and recycled pressed cork board with 3mm and 5mm thicknesses. It is steam cleaned and dried for sterilization purposes, then cut into smaller pieces for basing applications.

The tiles can be used to represent slate rocks, stepping stones and can be broken apart for use as rubble/rocks. They can be sanded and carved for dungeon, cobblestone, brick and fieldstone floors. Cork slate tiles are generally applied by using PVA glue.

Diamond Plate Tiles - These tiles are made from tan plastic and come in 3 different designs and patterns: 1:100 scale, 1:24 scale and 1:48 scale double diamonds.

These tiles can be used to represent a number of items specifically for steampunk scenes, however they can be cut to fit just about any theme and can even be shaped to form an insert for the included round bases.

Gray Ballast - This ballast is comprised of tiny quartzite and limestone angular cut rocks that is baked and dyed gray. These gray colored rocks make it easier to "wash" the desired colors on top; it adds depth to the rocks without having to put a basecoat on them first.

The material can be used to represent river bed or ocean side rocks, general rock scatter, rubble and gravel to name a few. Ballast is generally applied by using PVA or other clear drying glues.

Black Ballast - This ballast is comprised of tiny quartzite and limestone angular cut rocks that is baked and dyed black. These black colored rocks make it easier to drybrush the desired colors on top; it adds depth to the drybrushing without having to put a basecoat on them first. A real time saver.

The material can be used to represent river bed or ocean side rocks, general rock scatter, rubble, coal and gravel to name a few. Ballast is generally applied by using PVA or other clear drying glues.

PVA Glue - This product is made from a non-toxic polyvinyl acetate emulsion mixed with plain filtered water. It can be cleaned up with warm water and soap and can be peeled or scraped off after it cures.

PVA glue is commonly used to apply all forms of basing materials to miniature bases, as well as vignettes and dioramas. It goes on milky white and dries transparent.

Oregon Beach Sand - This sand is collected from the Oregon coast. It is cleaned, sterilized and sifted in a series of processes to ensure quality reliabilities. No dyes or other chemicals are added, this is a 100% natural product.

The material can be used to represent dirt, soil, desert, rough textures and... well... beach sand!. Once applied to a base, the sand can be basecoated and drybrushed with highlights. Sand is generally applied by using PVA or other clear drying glues.

Cork Rubble/Rocks - This product is made from cork tree bark and cork press board. It's been chopped to resemble large and small rocks and is washed, steam cleaned and dried for sterilization purposes.

They can be used to represent large rocks, small rocks, rubble and can be broken apart further to form fine scale rocks and even soil. Cork rubble/rocks are generally applied by using PVA or other clear drying glue. The cork material comes in a 2" by 3" resealable poly bag for ease of use, reclaiming and storage.

Wooden Deck Planks - These planks are made from real bass/balsa wood strips and have been glued together to form planks in 3 different sizes:

The planks can be used to represent all sorts of steampunk applications, including (but not limited to) boxes, crates, walkways, small bridges, ship decks, tavern floors, etc. They can also be applied to miniatures in order to add a steampunk feel...such as wooden armor, for example.

Metal Gears & Wheels - These items are real gears and cogs from mechanical watches. They are made of brass, aluminum, steel and some types of alloys. There are several different styles and sizes to fit most any scale.

These wheels, cogs and gears can be used for numerous basing effects as well as several applications for miniature modifications. They can be used to represent mechanical automatons, science fiction/steampunk debris, working machinery, etc.

Gray Texture Paste - This product is comprised of several different elements: micro-metal flakes, pumice, fast dry adhesives, vinyl paste, and true permanent gray powdered pigments. The paste dries to the touch in 30 minutes, sets in 1 hour and fully cures in 2 hours (depending on how thick the paste is applied). It can be sanded and painted easily.

The paste can be used to represent a number of terrains: desert sand, soil, mossy areas and concrete...to name a few. Typically the paste is applied with wooden sticks/spoons directly to the base, allowed to dry and then painted according to preference.

Clear Scenic Water - This product is comprised of a waterborne polyurethane dispersion that is non-solvent based and has a relatively low toxicity level. It is a safer product, not only for humans but for the environemtn we live in.

Scenic water can be used for all applications of scaled down waterways. Layers thicker than 1/8" are not recommended, 1/8th" layers set in 4-8 hours and completely cure in 24 hours. The scenic water material comes in a 1/2 ounce squeeze dropper bottle for ease of use and storage.

Warning! - This material is not meant for small children. Care should be taken when applying the scenic water, use the provided applicator and in case of skin contact, wash with warm soap and water. Do not eat or misuse this material as it can cause an allergic reaction. Use and store this material with care and caution.

Burnt Static Grass - This static grass is made from a mixture of varied lengths of rayon fibers, which combine to form a non-uniform texture (much like you would actually find in nature). The grass is blended with 2 shades of dark brown and 2 shades of light brown to reproduce the scorched colors of burnt grass.

This material can be used to represent fields of grass, weeds and semi-long grassy areas. Typically, PVA or other clear drying glue is used to adhere the grass to bases. Turning the base upside down and gently blowing (while tapping excess material off) the grass will make it stand up better. The static grass material comes in a 2" by 3" resealable poly bag for ease of use, reclaiming and storage.

Wooden Stir Sticks - These stir sticks (included free) are made from all natural sterile wood. Their intended use is for the application of texture pastes but they can be used for a number of other hobby related purposes.

The stir sticks can be washed and dried for use after use.

Black Plastic Round Bases - These bases (included free) are directly from Hasslefree Miniatures. There is one each of 30mm, 40mm and 50mm. They are made from black colored plastic and have a display lip for decorations.

The bases can be cut, sanded and shaped to form many unique looking displays. However, using them "as is" is perfectly fine. They offer a miniature so many ways to be presented that I would go so far as to say it's virtually unlimited.
