SPRING BASING KIT - Our basing kits are made using the best available materials. Most items are hand made, hand crafted, hand-dyed, and/or hand cultivated. We strive to be green friendly, so most of our products are all natural as well. Each kit comes with basic decorations as well as moderate and advanced materials used to create anything from simple to extremely complex bases.

The kits should decorate a minimum of 30 standard 30mm round bases, 20 standard 40mm bases, or 10 standard 50mm round bases...though the materials can be stretched further. Spring Basing Kits come with the following *items:

SPRING MIX FLOCK SCATTER - This flock scatter is made from a mixture of sterile sawdust and poly foam particles, carefully blended to produce a non-uniform texture (much like you would actually find in nature). There is a blend of 2 shades of green, a shade of yellow-green and a shade of medium green to reproduce the colors of spring.

The material can be used to represent fields of kept grass, mossy areas and can even be used to decorate trees for velvet sleeved limbs. Typically, PVA or other clear drying glue is used to adhere the flock to bases. The flock material comes in a 2" by 3" resealable poly bag for ease of use, reclaiming and storage.

SPRING MIX STATIC GRASS - This static grass is made from a mixture of varied lengths of rayon fibers, which are blended together to form non-uniform texture (much like you would actually find in nature). The static grass is also blended with 2 shades of light green, a shade of dark green, and 2 shades of medium green to reproduce the colors of Spring.

The material can be used to represent fields of grass, weeds and semi-long grassy areas. Typically, PVA or other clear drying glue is used to adhere the grass to bases. Turning the base upside down and gently blowing (while tapping excess material off) the grass will make it stand up better. The static grass material comes in a 2" by 3" resealable poly bag for ease of use, reclaiming and storage.

SPRING FIELD GRASS - This field grass is made from sterile 100% pure mohair (Angora goat hair). It's dyed in two stages with two different colorfast colors (reproducing spring colors) to eliminate color bleeding.

The material can be used for a number of basing applications; tall grass, field grass/weeds, river bank reeds and swamp foliage to name a few. Typically, PVA or other clear drying glue is used to adhere the grass to bases. The field grass material comes in a 2" by 3" resealable poly bag for ease of use, reclaiming and storage.

SPRING VEGETATION - This vegetation is made from a mixture of varied lengths of miniature princess pine. They are carefully dyed (reproducing spring colors), in a two stage process, with colorfast colors to eliminate color bleeding. They are also treated with a natural preservative product that helps to keep them fresh.

The material can be used to represent several different kinds of vegetation; jungle vines, ivy vines, creeper, river reeds, etc. Typically, vegetation is applied by using PVA or other clear drying glues. They can also be "planted" by pushing them into soft/porous materials.

SPRING LEAF SCATTER - This leaf scatter is made from 100% natural birch tree seed pods harvested in late June to early July. They are cleaned, sterilized and sifted all in a series of processes to ensure quality reliabilities. They are then dyed in spring colors; olive, bright green and medium green using colorfast colors to eliminate color bleeding.

The material can be used for leaf fall/scatter, leaf piles, leaves on trees, and can be directly applied to miniatures...to name just a few applications. Leaf scatter is generally applied by using PVA or other clear drying glues.

BLACK BALLAST - This ballast is comprised of tiny quartzite and limestone angular cut rocks baked and dyed black. Black colored rocks make it easier to drybrush the desired colors on top, it adds depth to the drybrushing without having to put a basecoat on them first. A real time saver.

The material can be used to represent river bed or ocean side rocks, general rock scatter, rubble, coal and gravel to name a few. Ballast is generally applied by using PVA or other clear drying glues.

OREGON BEACH SAND - This sand is collected from the Oregon coast. It is cleaned, sterilized and sifted in a series of processes to ensure quality reliabilities. No dyes or other chemicals are added, this is a 100% natural product.

The material can be used to represent dirt, soil, desert, rough textures and... well... beach sand!. Sand is generally applied by using PVA or other clear drying glues.

OREGON REINDEER MOSS - This moss is collected from various forests throughout Oregon. Although it is a 100% natural product, it is cleaned, sterilized and preserved (with a non-toxic preservative) in a series of processes to ensure quality reliabilities. If exposed to prolonged sunlight, the moss will fade in color and become brittle. You can spray a matte sealer to prevent this and prolong the longevity of the moss.

The material can be used to represent weeds, wild growth, dungeon creeper, forest roots and vines and of course, moss. Moss is generally applied by using PVA or other clear drying glues.

SCULPTING MEDIUM - This medium is fashioned mixing several quality materials together; mica, white china clay, kaolin, PVC and violet Cyanidin pigment. Unlike most other sculpting mediums, this is a low temperature oven bake cure. Faster and safer to use while still retaining the sculptability of any other medium on the market today. A real work horse. Disclaimer: This is not a clay.

Directions: Preheat oven to 270 degrees F (132 degrees C) and place your sculpture on a pan. For every quarter inch (.64 cm) you should leave the sculpture in the oven to cure for 15 minutes. Do not over bake the medium and do not use a fireplace or microwave for curing. Allow a minimum of 30 minutes to let cool per quarter inch (.64 cm) of thickness.

CORK SLATE TILES - This product is made from new and recycled pressed cork board with 3mm and 5mm thicknesses. It is steam cleaned and dried for sterilization purposes, then cut into smaller pieces for basing applications.

They can be used to represent slate rocks, stepping stones and can be broken apart for use as rubble/rocks. They can be sanded and carved for dungeon, cobblestone, brick, and fieldstone floors. Cork slate tiles are generally applied by using PVA or other clear drying glue. The slate tile material comes in a 2" by 3" resealable poly bag for ease of use, reclaiming and storage.

CORK BOULDERS - This product is made from 100% cork tree bark. It's shaped by hand to resemble large boulders and rocks and is washed, steam cleaned and dried for sterilization purposes.

They can be used to represent large rocks, boulders and can be broken apart to form rubble/rocks. Cork boulders are generally applied by using PVA or other clear drying glue. The cork material comes in a 2" by 3" resealable poly bag for ease of use, reclaiming and storage.

CORK RUBBLE/ROCKS - This product is made from cork tree bark and cork press board. It's been chopped to resemble large and small rocks and is washed, steam cleaned and dried for sterilization purposes.

They can be used to represent large rocks, small rocks, rubble and can be broken apart further to form fine scale rocks and even soil. Cork rubble/rocks are generally applied by using PVA or other clear drying glue. The cork material comes in a 2" by 3" resealable poly bag for ease of use, reclaiming and storage.

BARK CHIP SLATE ROCKS - This product is made from pine, cedar and Douglas Fir tree bark peels. It's hand shaped, washed, steam cleaned and dried for sterilization purposes.

They can be used to represent multi-layered slate rocks, river cliffs and fallen dead wood. Bark slate is generally applied by using PVA or other clear drying glue. The bark material comes in a 2" by 3" resealable poly bag for ease of use, reclaiming and storage.

CLEAR SCENIC WATER - This product is comprised of a waterborne polyurethane dispersion that is non-solvent based and has a relatively low toxicity level. It is a safer product, not only for humans but for the environemtn we live in.

Scenic water can be used for all applications of scaled down waterways. Layers thicker than 1/8" are not recommended, 1/8th" layers set in 4-8 hours and completely cure in 24 hours. The scenic water material comes in a 1/2 ounce squeeze dropper bottle for ease of use and storage.

WARNING - This material is not meant for small children. Care should be taken when applying the scenic water, use the provided applicator and in case of skin contact, wash with warm soap and water. Do not eat or misuse this material as it can cause an allergic reaction. Use and store this material with care and caution.

CLEAR SCENIC WATER - This product is made from a non-toxic polyvinyl acetate emulsion mixed with plain filtered water. It can be cleaned up with warm water and soap and can be peeled or scraped off after it cures.

PVA glue is commonly used to apply all forms of basing material scatter to bases.

BLACK TEXTURE PASTE - This product is comprised of several different elements; micro-metal flakes, pumice, fast dry adhesives, vinyl paste, and true permanent black powder pigments. The paste dries to the touch in 30 minutes, sets in 1 hour and fully cures in 2 hours depending on how thick it's applied. It can be sanded and painted easily.

It can be used to represent a number of terrains; desert sand, soil, mossy areas and short grass to name a few. Typically the paste is applied with wooden sticks/spoons directly to the base and allowed to dry and then painted according to preference.

(1)30mm, (1)40mm, and (1)50mm round base

ROUND BASES - These bases (included free) are directly from Hasslefree Miniatures. There is one each of 30mm, 40mm and 50mm. They are made from black colored plastic and have a display lip for decorations.

The bases can be cut, sanded and shaped to form many unique looking displays. However, using them "as is" is perfectly fine. They offer a miniature so many ways to be presented that I would go so far as to say it's virtually unlimited.

WOODEN STIR STICKS - These stir sticks (included free) are made from all natural sterile wood. Their intended use is for the application of texture pastes but they can be used for a number of other hobby related purposes.

The stir sticks can be washed and dried for use after use.
